The Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation adopted resolutions on appeal and cassation proceedings under the rules of the CPC in courts of general jurisdiction. The plenum taught how to count the time limits for appeal and explained the consequences of their omission, told what circumstances would be the basis for canceling the decision, and detailed the rule on higher legal education for representatives.
Two adopted by the Plenum The Supreme Court's rulings are based on general principles. Many explanations that are given for the appeal process also appeared in the decision on cassation appeal.

The new resolutions of the Plenum replace the current rules of 2012. Therefore, from June 22, 2021, they cease to operate Resolution No. 13 of June 19, 2012 and Resolution No. 29 of December 11, 2012.
